“Alay ng Tahanan” or “A Sacrifice from Home” is a portrait of how I visualize a person of sacrifice is during this pandemic, a person who has the requirement and responsibility to go out of their house and risk their lives during a virus outbreak. During the early weeks of the pandemic, only one person was allowed to go out, or only a few people could work or buy necessities for the family. This was strictly implemented due to the community quarantine guidelines created by the government. Because of this, it was an enormous risk going out or sacrificing yourself just for the family’s survival. Behind that sacrifice, it is also a person who is afraid and anxious that who has the fear he might catch the virus and die, or worse, he might infect each and everyone in the family. The alay thinks of the risks that he will be facing, even if he or she does not want to go out there and risk their lives, they cannot do anything about it and go with it.
